The Time of Year for Thanks and Giving: Meals on Wheels

This is the time of year when we are reminded to give thanks for all our blessings. TheMeals on Wheelsprogram is a brilliant way to harness that holiday spirit, to capture a new sense of fulfillment, and to share your blessings directly with your neighbors who need it most. Whether youvolunteerordonate, it’s an easy way to make a huge difference in someone’s life.

Right now, your help is more important than ever. Plus, it'sNational Hunger & Homeless Awareness Week(November 12-20, 2022), and this is your chance to make a difference.

At Brown & Barron, we vigorously supportMeals on Wheelsas bothdonorsand asvolunteers, and we are asking all our neighbors to join us in helping this noble and worthy cause, which helps feed about 2.4 million older Americans each year.

Your Time & Donations Are Needed Now More Than Ever

The global pandemic has been a triple whammy forMeals on Wheels. More seniors are self-isolating, creating increased demand for meals. With the supply-chain issues stemming from the pandemic and the high cost of food, many seniors are having trouble affording healthy meals. Meanwhile, health concerns have greatly reduced the number ofvolunteers.

Meals on Wheelshas taken proactive measures to ensure the safety of their employees andvolunteers. To safely serve Maryland seniors frozen meal packs complete with milk, bread, juice, and fruit are being delivered on a weekly basis.

Please do not wait. Make it a truly great holiday season.
